19 Bihar Congress MLAs flow to Hyderabad ahead of trust vote

In a significant political development, Bihar State President Dr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh, accompanied by 16 out of 19 MLAs, has arrived in Hyderabad. The remaining three MLAs have been instructed to join promptly. Dr. Singh is slated to be brought directly from Hyderabad to Patna on the day of the crucial trust vote scheduled for February 12. With the current Assembly arithmetic favoring the NDA, Bihar's political landscape is witnessing strategic maneuvers that demand closer examination.

In the aftermath of Bihar's recent government formation, political activities have surged, ranging from pressure politics to resort tactics. Despite Nitish Kumar taking his ninth oath as Chief Minister, navigating the challenges to prove his strength on the floor of the House appears to be a daunting task. Numerous obstacles pose challenges to the Nitish government, making the current political scenario complex and unpredictable.

The unexpected alliance shift, where Nitish Kumar, who was uniting opposition parties against Modi, has now aligned with the NDA to form a new government, adds a layer of intrigue. The crucial question looms: can Nitish Kumar secure a vote of confidence on February 12 and sustain his government? The stakes are high, especially with the outgoing Speaker, Awadh Bihari Chaudhary, from the RJD quota, yet to resign. Lalu Yadav's potential political moves and the role of Congress MLAs, currently under resort politics in Hyderabad, further complicate the situation.

The RJD, led by Lalu Prasad, appears determined to challenge the trust vote, orchestrating strategic moves to diminish support for Nitish Kumar's government. The Congress, after an AICC meeting in Delhi, has relocated its MLAs to Hyderabad, strategically safeguarding against potential defections.
